Format: Saturday, 10:00am-2:00pm in person Text: All materials provided Credit Options: 4-hour RPDP Certificate – No cost Date: January 17 Go beyond simple book discussion by collaborating to use literature as a powerful lens for critical inquiry and a deeper understanding of the world. This hands-on interactive workshop provides educators with the opportunities to practice asking thoughtful questions about perspectives, power dynamics, and representation, while developing the techniques needed to engage in courageous conversations. Participants will learn to build curriculum by leveraging students' cultural knowledge, background, and identities. All participants will walk away with a beautiful children's book and a plan for engaging students in experiencing the world through "mirrors, windows, and sliding doors."
